WP8 - Strategies for Sustainability

WP8 contributes to the specific call objectives of “Manufacturability and recyclability should be explicitly addressed, to reduce the manufacturing, refurbishment, dismantling and recycling costs as well as the carbon footprint of the new battery systems.” As such, the objective of WP8 is the development of supporting sustainability studies for the design, manufacturing, and recycling of environmentally and economically sustainable SSB in a holistic perspective, for carbon footprint reduction of the SSB system. Life cycle models of the battery manufacturing, use and final disposal will be developed towards a life cycle sustainability assessment of the developed system. A final roadmap will be prepared to draw strategies to achieve higher TRLs for the developed system and battery models.
